18 Minutes

Thank you for giving 18 minutes of your time in support of Justice for Daniel Wultz and our collective commitment to creating a world safe for all our children.

Your actions will make a difference. While we know it may take some effort, we hope that beyond your efforts, you will share this information with 17 others who will also give 18 minutes, and that each of them will do the same.

Here’s how you can help in 18 minutes.

STEP One: Choose Your Focus

  • Your Congressional Representative
  • Your United States Senator
  • Embassy of Israel

STEP Two: Make the Call

United States House of Representatives

United States Senate

To reach your United States Senator, call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 1-202-224-3121 or click here to find the direct number for the Senators elected to represent you. After speaking with a staff member, ask for an email address to send follow-up (see sample message below).

Embassy of Israel to the United States

Call 1-202-364-5500 and ask to speak to Ambassador Ron Dermer. Assuming you don’t reach him, ask for his secretary/assistant to leave a detailed message. Whether or not you reach a live person, it’s important to follow-up in writing from this link (sample message below).

STEP Three:  Deliver the Message

  1. Serious allegations have been made about the Bank of China, including laundering money to finance a 2006 terrorist attack that killed Daniel Wultz, a 16-year-old American from Weston, Florida who was visiting Israel on vacation.
  2. Justice for Daniel Wultz and the safety of the American people require a Congressional investigation into the role of Bank of China in financing terrorism, including the role of Bank of China’s branches in the United States. Daniel’s family has pursued legal action against the Bank of China for the past five years that is now proceeding in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
  3. I urge you to promptly take every action possible to allow the American people to (a) learn the truth about Bank of China’s role in terror financing, (b) enact legislation that punishes any financial institution operating in the United States that knowingly finances terrorism, and (c) make sure no license is given to financial institutions that knowingly provide support for terrorist acts directed at Americans to do business in or with the United States.

STEP Four:  Follow-Up

Sample Message to Member of Congress

Dear Representative Wasserman Schultz,

I contacted your office today as a constituent who is deeply concerned about Bank of China’s funding of terrorism and money laundering through branches in the United States, including allegations that the Bank of China knowingly transferred funds to Islamic Jihad and Hamas which led to the murder of American teenager Daniel Wultz during a 2006 visit to Israel. I understand evidence has been provided in the case of Wultz et al v Bank of China Limited in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (Civil Docket #1:11-cv-01266-SAS-GWG) that is before the Honorable Shira Scheindlin.

I respectfully urge Congress to promptly hold hearings on this matter with the goal of ensuring financial institutions licensed to operate or do business with or in the United States are prohibited from laundering or transferring funds or taking any other action that provides support for terrorism.

Sincerely,
John Smith

Sample Message to U.S. Senator

Sample Message Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer

Can be submitted via this link.

Dear Ambassador Dermer,

I contacted your office today to express my concern over actions Israel has taken to protect the Bank of China from facing justice for its role in laundering and transferring funds to Islamic Jihad and Hamas that have funded terrorism against Americans, including the terror attack that killed Florida teenager Daniel Wultz during a visit to Israel in 2006. I am deeply troubled that instead of siding with the victims of this horrendous crime, the Government of Israel is deliberately acting to protect Bank of China from justice in an American court.

I understand that although senior members of the Israeli intelligence community have already provided public statements regarding direct warnings provided to the Bank of China in advance of the transfer of funds that led to the murder of Daniel Wultz, your government is now trying to protect Bank of China by preventing a key Israeli witness, Uzi Shaya, from testifying in U.S. Court, despite the issuance of a legal subpoena and prior promises to the Wultz family and members of the U.S. Congress that Mr. Shaya would be allowed to testify truthfully.

I urge you to convey in the strongest possible terms the long-term consequences this action will have on public perceptions about Israel among the American people, the U.S.-Israel relationship, and the support of people like myself who have long believed Israel was guided by moral and ethical values.

This course of action must be reversed by promptly notifying the U.S. Court that Israel will allow the witness to tell the truth about Bank of China’s role in funding the terrorist attack that killed Daniel Wultz.

Sincerely,
John Smith
